Generations of the past seem to have installed a rather toxic and inaccurate idea of ‘we have to make ourselves better so we appear as good and attractive people’.
Well, this is just totally wrong.
We should nourish and improve ourselves so we feel good within ourselves.
The better you feel in your own skin, the better you attract.
While it is important to love others and put love into the universe - our love for ourselves is the most important.
The journey of finding self-love can be complicated and is a constant work-in-progress. However, there are steps you can take to feel more in love with you.
Number 1 .. Identify your negative thoughts and beliefs in order to limit them
Recognising the limiting thoughts you have about ‘not being good enough’ or worries you may have is key to controlling your thoughts and emotions. Learn to let go of these thoughts and focus on more positive things.
Number 2 .. Identify your best qualities
Make a list of the top 5 things about yourself that you love in order to remind yourself why you are important and have so much value. Repeat this every morning to start your day off positively.
Number 3 .. Focus on positive relationships and let go of negative ones
This can be very hard if you have a fear of letting people down, however, letting people take advantage of you and drain you is extremely damaging to yourself. These kind of relationships should be let go of. Instead, focus on nourishing your relationships that make you happy and that involve a mutual respect and understanding of each other.
Number 4 .. Don’t be so hard on yourself!!
This is such an important thing to remember - especially in the current climate. Expecting yourself to work hard and be busy all the time is also damaging to yourself. It is so important to take breaks in order to avoid burning yourself out and refresh. If you wake up feeling really crappy inside one day and lethargic, let yourself sleep longer, have that McDonalds for lunch or lay in bed and watch that Netflix series. Whatever makes you happy on days like that, do it! Burning yourself out emotionally and physically is never the answer.
Number 5 .. Take on new challenges
Staying in your comfort zone is bad fo growth. Taking on new hobbies and venturing out will help you learn more about yourself and acquire many new skills. While trying these new things may make you feel anxious or scared at first, getting on with it and doing it will remind you how brave you can be and you’ll thank yourself in the end.
Wishing you love,
